xpreatorianxI have barely started in this world of modding, so I don't know the usual way of thinking people has when it comes to searching for mods. I may be naive in that sense, so I apologize for my lack of that knowledge... But I do still think that is common sense to give credit where it truly belongs. I was raised that way... Maybe it is a cultural differences issue, I don't know. That's all I can say.

I'm saying people shouldn't have to give credit just to showcase mods in videos. As long as they aren't distributing the mods, they should be able to showcase them without having to give credit. Again though, that's just my personal opinion.

While he does give all of you credit, he did post a download link to your mods. As well as a link to your threads. While I respect your opinion I totally disagree. What you are saying is basically to put a painting in a museum without giving any information (both maker and source). If you are going to showcase mods, you should AT LEAST give credit to the maker along the source from where you found it, this way you will look nice (helping even your followers if they would like to use those mods), respect the will of the modders, and avoid being a "jerk", killing 3 birds with a stone. Needless to say, if you are showcasing a mod that means that you like it, so why not support its modder? I'm just a newbie modder (since I can only do simple stuff), this doesn't mean that I'm against youtubers, but to me these are golden rules that people should follow to keep harmony between us. At least this is my way of thinking things.

Well as long as credit was given I am okay with him sharing my mods. Seconded this. Doesn't matter if my mods get showcased as long as I get credited even by just a mere mention of my name in the video & he doesn't put false claim over my mods being theirs~

Think about this for a bit ...one guy shares a download link, and another guy shares his download link and loses the record of the person who did the mod , not happy with what this would lead to . arent we supposed to keep a general rule here?

But this can always happen? Guy A downloads a mod, loves it and pastes it in his group chat on Skype. Now 12 people have the mod and only one person knows where it came from. Even if Guy A downloaded the mod from this forum, that's no guarantee he will share that link with others. Heck, there's a big chance 10 out of those 12 don't even care where it came from. All of this is really outside of the control of this forum and mod creators. (Also, Arkano, do you believe they should have asked for permission or not? Not sure I'm understanding you correctly. =))

I think there needs to be a global rule like when using a mod in a video credit the creator no permission required unless specified by mod creator, so this way there could be a rule for people who dont want to ask the modder or take time to do anything, but it could also allow the mod creators to set thir own rules

Yes not to mention I'm sure the creators will get annoyed with flooded messages asking to use their mods in a video. I understand how some people may feel like once a mod is given credit with a link the next person to share the link or use it might not give credit to the maker. But thats just how the internet is, its uncontrollable once its out there unless you are well equipped with authority to back it up. As long the people in this forum follow the rules modders/youtubers alike then thats what really matters here.
Mods aren't the only thing that are vulnerable to content thieves even our videos get stolen when some people decide to re upload them without asking. I literally just found a channel that has alot of stolen content from me and others and expects people to sub him lol Trust me he has so many of my old videos I'm too lazy to report any of them, but I know I'm the original uploader plus my channel's watermark are on each video lol

I mean yeah, i understand working hard on something and wanting all the attention and credit for it (even though its a free download and all i really want is the popularity from it), but look at it from a different stand point yo, You're all taking a creation from somebody who worked really hard on it, altering it, and im sure in the creators eyes, ruining it...then you're getting praised and credited for what wouldnt even exist if not for somebody before you. Don't get me wrong, i love the mods and wanna see them continue. But you're pretty damn hypocritical for banning people and slandering them (which is illegal) . And one more thing...how is he STEALING mods? if he STOLE them then so did I, im trying to make a mod pack now, cuz i loved what he did, he made it easy to download a mix of all the better mods. Obviously i won't put my pack online, cuz i can't copy what everyone else does and get away with it, noo online the "modders" get away with that. Please don't read this and get all rape victim (butthurt) on me and act like im "talking shit" i'm putting in my honest opinion in, maybe i'm wrong and you actually do have more rights then everyone else. If so, tell me how. otherwise...maybe have a private section for VIP mods so the rest of us can share what we have and want. YOU DESERVE YOUR CREDIT -- JUST NOT TO THE EXTENT OF BANNING SLANDERING AND SPAMMING PEOPLE FOR SHARING YOUR MODS INCORRECTLY To everyone who agree's with me...dont post about it or talk down to anyone. These people work hard..my point is that they shouldn't be so high and full of thereselfs for stealing the content from the game, then getting mad at people for stealing there stolen content and sharing it. fuck im sure im banned. Sorry i am a honest person ha. take care (and check out my post about things i want modded cause its been up a while and still nothing lol. Look, you can have your opinions, but making rape jokes in the midst of it, which makes your whole argument invalidated. Its a hit below the belt, but you wouldn't understand what that means. *Mic Drop*
