I did something wrong and have spent the last 2 hours trying to figure it out, but to no avail. I'd like to see what the difference between yours and mine, and then try to add it to different hairstyles to get better at the process

Well, this was an experience, and it worked well. Even though I didn't attempt the transformable hair, I've learned to make customs. Buuuuuuut, I've run into an issue. The hair color seems stuck at the 'Xenoviewer brown' rather than being tintable. Despite that, the transformed tint works, even a custom one, as seen with Yusion's Legendary SSJ green color. I'll try tinkering with it further and see if I can locate the problem, but pointers are also welcome. Also, I have a question, could you point me to a blender tutorial how to weight the hair, so the SSJ3 part stays by the character's back, rather than have its entirety move along with the head? Or perhaps add the steps to weight it to this tutorial? You coulda just tagged and asked me. I've actually made my own hair color for my Saiyan because I wanted that deep, saturated, dark brownish red like Vegeta/King Vegeta for my Saiyan. The reason why it shows up like that in XenoViewer is because that is the color within the dyt.emb file. So XenoViewer doesnt know to or even how to change it. This happens with bust color as well when you look at Darkussj's SSJ4 bust mod a while back. Unpack and edit your Hair.emm file. I'm betting your .emm file says "hair_top". If however you change this to "HAIR_top", it will go off of whichever color you selected at character creation. Samething for bust color. skin_bust vs SKIN_bust. They seem to have it set where if the material is defined with lower case it goes by the color in the .dyt.emb. If it's uppercase it uses the color selector in the game.

But I've done as you suggested, and it works fine now. All that remains for me is to figure out how to weight this thing in Blender. Then I can actually start up my own thread and make things for people.

OMG I did change the bust to BUST but I never knew that lowercase it uses the color in the dyt.emb and if it is uppercase it uses the color selected when creating the character, I mean you told me that but I haven't seen any difference in the skin bust maybe because I had the same color in both the dyt.emb and in the game I will return to tweak it in another time and see if I can get it to work like Kainzorus Prime

I will cover full swaps in my next tutorial, but this is how I did the SS4 bust. Good to know. Perhaps that tutorial will help me get through the color problem described above. If you want to do the full swap, use the Alpha trick to make the base model invisible while transforming

You just have to do the Hiding the SSJ Cut while in base form tactic on the Base Haircut while in SSJ. Otherwise the hair would go up AND down.

In this tutorial I will show how to create a Super Saiyan 3 hairstyle and how to apply it to the character to give an in game transformation. There are some spelling and grammar errors in my screenshots so I apologise.
Step 1Great tutorial! I would like to ask a question though: (first of all this is my first mod attempt regarting xenoverse), I'm having hard time figuring which .esk file I should use, is there a list somewhere in the forum which explain which .esk is related at? Yesterday I spent one hour trying to find something like that on the forum, but with no avail. I'm trying to find the CaC Sayan and Human (both male) .esk . EDIT: Also, this is surely pretty straightforward, but I'll ask anyway; Since I Just want the Broly LSSJ hairs Do I NEED all that character related hair files?

The HUM_000.esk file is for both human males and saiyan males so use it for those characters or if female then use HUF_000. For majin race male use MAM for female use MAF. For frieza clan use FRI and finally for namekian use NMC. And for Broly LSSJ hair you will need all the files like I used for taking gotenks SS3 hair.
