Can't afford 3D Max, so I got Blender. Problem is, it doesn't seem to be able to open files from the CHAR folder. (to edit models)
Anyone know what the deal is, or how to open my files? (I've got to the folder and it appears with no usable files to open)

You need to import>fbx instead of opening.
Oh, and you also need to use the lib xenoverse emdfbx tool to convert an emd+esk files to a single fbx so you have something to import.

In the lib xenoverse folder, there's a bin folder. The applications you need to convert are there. Just select both the emd you want to work with and the main esk file of the character you are working with. For example, for human females, the HUF_000.esk and whatever emd file you want to work with. Bust, Rist for hands, Pants and Boots. Grab those two and drop them into the emdfbx.exe program. a new file with the extension .emd.fbx will be created in the folder you had your emd and esk files. That file is then the one you import into blender through the default fbx plugin. I also advice that when selecting what you want to work with, grab those parts and copy them into a separate folder so you don't have to wade through the data folder later to find them. :3

Glad to help. I want more people modding this game. you and me both hey if you are good with textures can you make a video tutorial on that please? Not really good at the whole video thing, in fact, never made a video. -_-' But I can share the little I know through text and images. I have actually started one such tutorial in another forum. Not posting the link here because the forum in question handles multiple mods, some of adult content. Might bring that to here as a full fledged blender tutorial and will complete it with what I've learned yesterday about fixing textures as well. Still, there's different files in this game to convert and I haven't learned all the tricks yet. Anyway, will try something more formal when work, chores and a pending request or two I have on Second Life permits it. Sounds like a long backlog but shouldn't take me long. and how do i use the emdfbx tool? As I stated before, grab an .esk file and the desired body part emd together and drag/drop into emdfbx exe. (Example HUM_000.esk and HUM_000_Bust.emd) This should generate an fbx file with the rigged mesh and it's bones. Tossing the emd mesh alone is possible, but your mesh will not be rigged and there won't be bones present. So...this is Bardock's ssj hair on blender: *snip pic* WTF??? Did you drag and drop both files into the emdfbx exe at the same time? I must check hair files myself as I haven't worked with any. I know they have slightly different properties than body parts and like skirts and other props they also use an scd file for flow physics. Suppose I'll do some science with them for the sake of information.

Will try something soonish then. I'm speeding up my workflow to avoid unnecessary steps as well, so I can make things simpler for me and hopefully everyone else.
By the way, downloading ezvid now. :3
