Yeah I noticed. As off-topic as it is, I just can't 'not' laugh at this. 'He's' the one calling 'us' kids?
How ironic.

I was actually curious myself as to whether or not the devs were aware of the mods that have been building up. Like, someone in Japan that plays Xenoverse has to have stumbled upon our humble forums by now. Bethesda found out that their game was being heavily modded, and embraced it, even going so far as to release a development kit. Kinda hoping Bandai/Dimps react similarly when they see everything thats been made. I honestly don't know why most companies don't its like they don't want to prolong the lifespan of their game. That's actually pretty simple from their standpoint. Free mods being made = Less people buying the DLC. You can't sell skins and items for 8 bucks a pack when a modder releases a pack of 20 new items with tweaks the community wants, for free.

The only problem is that at this point we have to replace some in-games item with a modded one, while DLC simply adds new files (or at least unlock the access to them, when we talk about locked content). Although I would be more than happy to see a kit released it will likely never happen; for some reasons japanese companies never liked the idea of modding (plus, I still don't get why most of the console port games aren't released in japan as for the rest of the world, for example as far I'm aware this game wasn't released in japan for pc). I just felt sad about the ruckus Team Ninja did with dead or alive 5 and their threat to modders...that really left me with a bad taste in my mouth...

Now back on topic its funny really cause Ive been on most games like say this one, and elder scrolls online, and a lot of others. Can you guess what they have in common? they are filled with modders so you would think that history would repeat its self, and the gaming company would simply say. You want to mod fine go ahead were tired of fixing games only for modders to make mods for said games, but sadly that face//desk moment has yet to occur for gaming companies sigh.

I can't say for sure, but given what I know about Japan, I would probably chalk this up to cultural differences. It's not that they take their video-games more seriously than anyone else, but whereas the rest of the world might see modding as a bunch of creative edits, based on their values of humility and hard work, etcetera, they might see it as more along the lines of putting your own "improvements" on the Mona Lisa. It's taking an established vision that other people worked very hard to create, and editing it into something that it is not. Now, there are all sorts of counter-arguments to this, such as "if it's not harming anyone who doesn't choose to do it, who cares," or "it's all harmless fun and in the end doesn't matter," but it's very likely that this viewpoint is stemming from a philosophical or moral standpoint, instead of anything that has to do with hard ethics or actual pragmatism.

I perfectly understand what you are trying to say, still I feel a little sad about this. For how much our culture differences may differ we are still people in the end, we do something right, we do something wrong and we do mistakes, from them we learn something new. Though I'd like to know how is modding considered by common people in japan, rather than what companies think.

"Thank you for contacting Bandai Namco's Technical Support and Warranty Department. Generally, modifying the game is a violation of the EULA and it's not something that we would be able to recommend for our department's standpoint. If you do decide to use/create them, please use it at your own risk and/or on an alternate account. " this is an email i got when i contacted namco bandai support ! Strange thing about this though is that the first sentence suggests that you contacted then, not that they contacted you which is kinda strange

Honestly... You made the forum panic with false information about how you read a message which clearly was harmless. Yes admins usually give 10% warnings but you caused the forum panic as well as spread false information tagging half the forum so you deserve the ban you got. dont think he will ever see this comment. check this out I...honestly dunno if i should laugh or cry to this stupidity... Hell i dont even have words to describe this x.x
