I meant to read through this and comment earlier. @sheonr, while I cannot speak for everyone, I will speak for myself. I am perfectly fine with people using my mods in videos and stuff. My problem starts when you are re-uploading it and redistributing it in the description of said video without crediting me and linking back to my thread. I've seen a couple of videos showing off my colorable clothing mods. They didn't ask permission, but at the same time they linked my thread and credited me. ImmaSSaiyan and breakITdown being the one's I'm talking about, at least that I've seen. I'm perfectly fine with this as both of them credited me in the video description and even linked to my thread. Actually it makes me happy because it means my work was enjoyed by others so much that they wanted to make a video about it and tell others. For that I even respect them for taking the time to credit me. Even ImmaSSaiyan took the time to credit everyone who's mods he showcased in the description. It's just the redistributing in gigapacks and stuff without crediting me or anyone else that I have a problem with. I'm feeling a little guilty now. I always make sure nobody thinks the mods I record are mine. In fact my channel has a reputation of uploading other people's mods. I always credit the creator and give the download link. It's just people downloading and reuploading to shared or something and then giving the link out like it's their own that I have a problem with. You and the people you mentioned I'm perfectly happy to see feature mods in their videos, mine and other alike. Please read this. If not I'm going to message you to make sure you understand that. |

For the record I'm one of these youtubers, every time I use one of you guys mods in any of my videos I always credit the maker, I never provide the download link directly, as I feel that overstepping the boundary, when asked I always point people to visit this forum.
But after reading this thread, I definitely won't use anyone's mods without asking, but to make it easier, if you wish for people not to use your mods in videos, why not blatantly say so ? Let ppl know you don't want them using what mod. Would make this a lot easier
