I love making new characters, but my concern is that there is no point if I can't make them face each other. Is there away that this could possibly be done? I know, calling it a long shot and waiting for hell to freeze over doesn't even begin to express how not possible this request it, but here's hoping for a miracle.

Yes and No.
Yes, it is possible.
No, it's not what you're likely hoping for.
The long answer/process:
1) Figure out the Model ID for every piece of gear your character is wearing. Refer to the "Model Swap IDs" thread here on DBXVMods in the Textures Mods section (It may be on page 2 or 3 now).
2) Figure out the Hair/Face/Ear/Chin/Eye ID for your CaC's face
3) Take all of those ID's for Clothes/Face/Hair, swap them over a character that plays nice with having CaC outfits on them. Goku, Adult Gohan, Bardock,Videl, Android 18, these are just a few who tend to work well with Custom clothes and there are others who work well too. Find one with a height/build you like and swap all of the clothes/face/hair pieces into their folder under data/chara/
4) Go ingame and see how it looks. Do this before you do the next step, just in case you don't actually need to do it.
5) Put the .ean file from whatever class your character is (HUM.ean for Human Males, HUF for Human Female, etc) in the character's folder. This will usually fix any clothing issues, as it sets them to use the animation set of the CaC from that class, and it will make them fight that way. This is only REQUIRED if the character didn't work properly without it. Also, if you don't want your custom to fight like whoever you swapped them over, it helps.
6) Go into the msg/ folder and find the file something like Proper_Noun_Character_Names_ and pick the one that is for your language (There's 2 options). Rename the character you swapped files over, to your CaC's name
7) Follow the Ttorial on editing Character Select Screen Picture's in the Tutorial section on this forum, and make a picture for your CaC to go over the character you're swapping.
8) If you can, try to put the correct voice on them. I have no idea where CaC voice files are in particular.
9) Go to the Custom_Skill file in data/system and open it, edit the Super/Ult/Evasive skill of the character to be whatever your CaC uses.
Should work.
