This tutorial is outdated, simply unpack the CHAR01.emb file for a full list of named character portraits and replace them with ease then repack changes.

This tutorial is outdated, simply unpack the CHAR01.emb file for a full list of named character portraits and replace them with ease then repack changes. Is there a tutorial for that? I think I'm a bit confused. I've unpacked and created data2root using cpk tools. I possess libxenoverse but haven't found anything relative to regarding this. I have the image I want to replace your portrait with, in any case.

to replace a portrait the new dds needs to be exactly 33kb right?how can i get a smaller file size?the resolution is ok but i alwas get like 128 kb

minimaps are the things that will determine the file size from what i think. read mastaklos tuts onbb textures and model imports to see where minimaps are

I don't know if it's already been said somewhere, but if you want to replace the in-battle character portrait then go into an unpacked data.CPK(not data2, datap1, etc.), data/ui/texture and find the name of the character .emb (I.E. VGT.emb) and unpack or use a Hex method similar to what's described in the original post.
